The SE-Optimizer

A free tool in the making to scan the metadata of your live website and help you understand what could improve. Straightforward feedback, with the knowledge to do something about it.

Why it matters

Everyone deserves a chance to have an optimized website without agency gimmicks or tricks. My time trying out freelance web design taught me lessons I would rather share than keep to myself. This project is a way to put that knowledge in more people's hands.

Your website deserves attention, too.

Putting up a Google Business Profile and calling it good is not the finish line. The website behind your business deserves just as much care. I am building this tool to help you look more closely at that part of your online presence and make informed improvements.

What it will do

The plan is simple: scan the metadata of one live page, explain the findings, and give you a clearer starting point for improving it. The tool will be free to use.

The planned workflow
One page. Clear feedback. A more informed next step.

In development · Scanning is not available on this project page yet.

Scan one live page

Submit the URL of a live website page to inspect its metadata. Each scan will focus on that single page, rather than auditing the whole site.

Understand the findings

Get feedback on specific metadata details so you can see what deserves a closer look and where there may be room to improve.

Put the knowledge to work

Use the findings to strengthen your own website or ask better questions about work you have paid someone else to do.

Tools to build it

The build needs a way to read a live page, inspect its metadata, and present useful feedback. These are the planned building blocks; the implementation is still taking shape.

Live page retrieval

A way to fetch the public page being reviewed and read the metadata in its HTML.

Metadata checks

A parser and a set of checks to turn the page metadata into specific, understandable findings.

A clear results interface

A place to enter a URL, review the feedback, and understand how the tool arrived at its own score.

Documentation & verification

Official documentation to support individual checks, plus manual verification to catch mistakes. Specific libraries and services are still to be confirmed.

How to read the results

Scores can vary. Each scan will cover one page at a time, so its results will not represent your entire website. Use the feedback to guide a closer look at the page you actually scanned.

A custom score, not an official rating.

The overall score will be this tool's own assessment. It is not an official Google score or a score from any other authority, and it does not guarantee search rankings. Official guidance will support the specific checks and explanations, not the combined score.

Always double-check the specifics.

Things can break, and automated checks can get things wrong. Verify each finding against your page and the relevant documentation before making changes or judging work you paid for. The goal is to help you strengthen your website and have better conversations about it.
